There is always something to smile about everyday.

A warm hello, an unexpected free ride, food generously shared, sunny mornings, help given though unasked for, fantastic views, quality time with family, loving support of friends, hearing a favorite song, a hug, a smile, another day. I thought it would be nice if I share my gratitude here and let everyone know that I am so thankful for all these blessings and people who make my world happier, kinder, better.

So, here are my thanks’ for today, but first of all, Lord, thanks for today! :o)

Thank You for a Safe and Happy Fieldwork :o)

I just came back from a fieldwork in Zambales two weeks ago and it was my first one for the year. I've been to Zambales before for my college immersion but it was only this time that I discovered its provincial pride - mangoes! :o) And proud they should really be! Their mangoes were big, sweet and so juicy! We were fortunate enough to be there during mango season so we were able to see lots of trees dotted by the sweet fruit. We were also able to get good discounts for the mangoes we bought (Php 500 for 21 kilos!). There were mangoes everywhere we went-green mangoes, ripe mangoes, carabao mangoes, apple mangoes - and the people we met there all gave us mangoes from their backyard :o) Even during our hikes, our field guides were snacking on mangoes dangling on the trees that we passed :o) I bought two whole baskets to take home. We made mango shake, refrigerator cake and suman with mango, and had mangoes for breakfast, lunch and dinner for two weeks. Hehehe. Such a sweet summer indeed :o)

I also really enjoyed this trip because I was with such funny, crazy people :o) Despite the intense heat, our heavy backpacks, the endless fields of cogon grass, the tiring treks to the rivers and the lukewarm water we had to cool us down, everybody still had the energy to make jokes and just keep on laughing. It was one adventure that really tested our endurance, patience and our physical fitness and I'm so happy to say that we got through it excellently. :o)

Thank You for She and Butch for being such good-natured fieldmates and for making me laugh the whole time we were there (de-pot, hehehe!) :o)

Thank You for She for her hardwork, endurance and obsessive compulsivness :o)

Thank You for the superb assistance of our clients and our fieldguides. Thank You for our drivers who drove responsibly. Thank You for letting us finish our work safely. Thank You for the patience and the terrific service of Francis the receptionist. Thank You for Anabel who showed us where to get the best mango buys. Thank You for our healthy and strong bodies. Thank You for my job that gives me the chance to go to exciting beautiful places and meet wonderful people. Thank You for showing me what faith, patience and lots of laughter can do :o)

Thank You for stretching me again :o)

Thank You for PTTC :o)

I just finished my two-day training on "Writing Business Plans" at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) today :o) I just stumbled upon it while doing some office research last week and since it looked useful and interesting, I decided to go. I must say, the PhP 2,000 training fee was really well worth it. :o) We were served lunch, morning and afternoon snacks and we were also given a handbook, an interactive cd of the lessons with templates of the business plan parts and certificates of attendance :o) The training itself was very informative and actually priceless for those who want to start a business, but don't really know how or where to start. The venue and the facilities were conducive to learning, and the facilitator was very helpful and encouraging - he even alloted time for one-on-one consultations. Not bad for PhP 2,000! It was actually my first time to go to PTTC and I was quite surprised that the government (DTI), had something like this. It was a huge building, equipped with appropriate facilities for conducting training in various industries. I think their programs are really great learning opportunities for Filipinos which few know about. So for those who are interested, just visit their website to get more information about future training schedules (they have lots of topics to choose from!) or their other services that might be useful to you: http://www.pttc.gov.ph/home.php

Thank You for Mr. Ed, Ms. Susan and my classmates - I really learned a LOT from them :o). Thank You for making me very productive this week, and Thank You for showing me step number 3. hehehe :o)

Thank You for Great Practices :o)

I've been getting used to our Saturday basketball practices with my ABL teammates and the last two ones have been exceptionally fun and educational :o) hehehe. I feel I'm slowly gaining the confidence to play and hopefully I would have become a better player by the next season :o) Aside from the exercise, it's really just fun to play around with my teammates and have a relaxing Saturday afternoon with them. Thank You for our two volunteer coaches, Coach Jeremy and Coach Ryan (?), who have been patiently giving us drills and tips to improve our game. Thank You for Pru and Karen who always lets me hitch a ride to VV6. Thank You for my teammates who keeps on giving me tips and advice on how I can become a good forward. :o) But most of all, Thank You for letting me experience the joy of being in a team :o)

Thank You for making me feel like a kid again :o)

Thank You for a Terrific Valentine's Day :o)

This year, I spent Valentine's day with my ABL teammates. We had a game versus Ateneo Law that day. After practicing a bit in the afternoon and grabbing a drive thru at McDo for a quick bite (thank you She for the treat! :o) ) we headed to Makati for our match. The game started with three 3-pointers from our opponent which caught us off guard. It took some time before we finally sank our first 2 points courtesy of She :o) Ateneo Law led all throughout the first half of the game, but we managed to tie by the third quarter and overtake them in the fourth. She was on fire that day, with lots of terrific shots and plenty of rebounds and steals. I think more than half of our team's score that day was hers! Hehehe. Way to go superstar She! :o) Nikki and Em did a great job too in the center especially in the fourth quarter. Actually, the whole team did an awesome job, ending the game with an impressive come-from-behind victory :o) Even if our opponent started strong, our team finished stronger. I'm really proud of my teammates! Way to go girls! :o)

After the game, some of us headed to Recipes to celebrate (the others had dates of their own that night, hehehe). It took a while before we were seated (couples were everywhere) but the gising-gising and general's chicken were worth the wait :o) The dinner was pleasant and fun. It was nice to spend time with my new friends outside the court. We finished at about 10 pm. Thank you Em for the yummy treat! :o) Thank you She and Marcy for being so kind to drive me all the way home even though it was out of the way :o)

Thank You for letting me appreciate love, in whatever form it may be. :o)
